Open water save the dates.

 

April 18th: Safety Rep – training for the club member or members who would organise safety aspects in Club OW Training.  This is about risk assessments and understanding how to run OW Training safely.  A Safety Rep is a Scottish Swimming qualification (once complete it will be entered into JustGo) and is required for clubs holding their own OW training (so unless in an organised session run by some outside agency which provides the safety cover).  Safety Rep can also be the first step towards the STO qualification of Safety Officer, if candidates wish to step up to that once they get into it.

 

April 25th: Club Guidance in OW – this is aimed at coaches and clubs to give them a general awareness of running safe OW training - how to work as a team to support swimmers, coaches and the Safety Rep to undertake this.

 

We’ll open these for members to sign up for shortly.  These are both open to any member of any district and there is no cost. Both will be in the evening, by Zoom.
