Athlete and Spectator Services Volunteers

The Edinburgh International Swim Meet, supported by Scottish and British Swimming is being held at Royal Commonwealth Pool, Edinburgh from 10^th – 12^th March 2023. The event attracts a wealth of swimming talent from both national and international. There is a large entry with many Olympic and Commonwealth Games athletes attending, along with home grown talent and Scotland’s up and coming athletes.

We are looking for volunteers to help in Athlete and Spectator Services. All volunteers in this role will be positioned on the balcony area where the racing can be seen. Volunteers will be rotated between the stations with regular breaks.

With over 800 Athletes and 500 spectators at the event, Athlete and Spectator Services Volunteers will provide key support to ensure their experience at the event is enjoyable and fun. The duties will include guiding spectators and teams attending the event to designated areas and assisting with any queries relating to the spectator/ team areas.

Volunteer Area: There is a volunteer room where refreshments will be available. Breakfast rolls will be provided for those covering the morning session and meals for those who are covering more than one session back-to-back each day.

Volunteer session times each day are:

07:00 – 11:30

11:15 – 16:00

15:45 – 19:30

Travel to and from the Championships: The Scottish Swimming expenses policy will be adopted for this event. Travel will be paid for a standard second-class train fare where appropriate or agreed SASA mileage rate may be used for travel expenses. To claim expenses, an expense claim form must be completed and passed to Morag Taylor, who will be situated at the information desk in the foyer.

Clothing: Edinburgh International event polo shirts will be issued. Volunteers are to provide their own dark trousers and shoes.
