Impressive performances at the Geneva International Challenge.

The first long course meet of the season

Geneva 2

Impressive performances at the Geneva International Challenge.

In what was, for many, the first long course meet of the season, encouraging times were set across the board, as momentum continues to build ahead of April’s British Championships.

Edinburgh’s Luke Hornsey, showing remarkable versatility to compete well in ‘A’ finals from the 200m Freestyle up to the 1500m Freestyle. He took bronze with a personal best in the latter (15:52.75), whilst his 200m Freestyle fourth place time (1:51.87) was enough to put him in the top 30 Scots of all time in the event. Luke grabbed a further bronze in the 400m Freestyle, and a fourth place in the 800m event – in a new PB (8:18.74).

Impressing on the women’s side of the distance events was Phoebe Arbuckle (Warrender Baths Club), winning a superb silver in the 1500m Freestyle. Phoebe who has been going from strength to strength in the event will be pleased with her medal and a solid in-season time.

In the 400m Individual Medley, Zara Krawiec (East Lothian Swim Team) placed well in fifth.

Sam Downie (East Lothian Swim Team) was in action, both looking sharp ahead of next month’s World Para Series event in Aberdeen.
